Do you feel stuck?  

Is there a burning pang in your chest that there 'has to be more' to this life than what you are currently living, experiencing and producing?

Finding my purpose was a long and round about journey of feeling lost and stuck for way too long.  I don’t want that for you. 

I want to help you find your passion faster and easier and get you on the fast track to the life you desire. 

Today's article has 3 super simple, highly effective, and impactful steps that will take this overwhelming process back to basics to help you gain clarity and discover your passion to fuel your life’s purpose.

A good life is not always good enough!  It is important to be thankful for what we have yet it is not ok to settle for less than your full potential!

If you have that pang, that burning desire inside you to “do more” and make a bigger difference in the world but you don’t know how, then this is for you!  

That feeling will not go away and over time it will eat away at you and make you feel like a failure - DON’T Settle!

If you aren’t living your purpose, then you are not living your best life and that is not what I want for you.

The 2 most important days of your life:

There is a quote that I love that says: 

"The two most important days of your life are: The day you were born and the day you discover why".

Isn't that so powerful?

When you don’t know what your purpose in life is though, it can be really hard to keep going! Over time you will find yourself in a place that you become really stuck and unhappy. You won't feel fulfilled and you may even question the reason you were put on this earth (like I did).

I am regularly told that I am a positive and happy person.  But there was a time in life where on the inside I was struggling so much that I was pushing everyone and everything important away from me.

It is embarrassing to share, but I think it is so important because it is an all too common struggle and there is power in knowing you are not alone. 

Backstory- I was living my dream speaking to tens of thousands of people and inspire them over and over again when I was a professional 300 mph race car driver. 

I retired at a young age from the sport of Drag Racing to pursue my other dream to become a wife and mom  

But the day came when I was no longer feeling fulfilled and I became deeply unhappy.

The struggle to find your purpose.

If you are struggling to find your purpose, it may be that you are searching for it in the wrong way.

My mentor, Tony Robbins explains that success is 10% mechanics (the how) and 90% psychology (the who).

When I was trying to find my purpose, I kept focusing on the mechanics.  The “how”. That is what was keeping me stuck.

I constantly wrestled with "what do I want to do, what am I good at and how can I monetize that?" 

Those were the wrong questions!

I needed to take a step back and really figure out “who” I needed to be first. What did I want to experience, what did I want to feel on a daily basis and how did I want to impact others in a positive way?

When I first started out, I didn’t know who I wanted to be or how I wanted to feel, but I knew what I DIDN’T want to feel anymore and then I started taking small steps towards feeling the opposite of that.

That brings us to:

Step 1 - Start taking action!

These don't have to be big changes that you make overnight.  In fact, I encourage the opposite. Small, sustainable changes that will compound over time is a much more effective and long lasting strategy.

My initial changes were simply waking up before my kids, getting in a morning workout, and replacing an unhealthy breakfast with a nutritious smoothie to fuel me through the day.

These small changes began to make me feel better.  I lost 20lbs in six weeks, I had more energy and I felt productive as I was taking charge of other areas of my life as well.

I began to feel happier! 

It may not seem interconnected but through a chain of reactions, those simple changes lead me from unhappy, unfulfilled and frustrated to a successful author, podcaster, life and business coach serving women in huge ways.

You don't have to know where it will lead, you just have to start somewhere.  The path (the how) will be revealed.

Step 2 - Get out of your head and into your heart

Get out of your head and into your heart.  

These two steps feed perfectly into each other. I need you to stop overthinking it, start taking the small steps and then follow your gut.  

Follow the results that bring you happiness but let go of your attachment to a specific outcome.

I encourage my audience to use their goals as a Northern Star that directs them in the way they should head out, but know that you may not end up at that specific destination - it might just be so much better than you can imagine right now!

Spend time reflecting on the TRUE results that matter and reflect daily on what moved you towards those.  

These results can be feeling happy, feeling fulfilled, feeling like you served someone in a meaningful way.

If you journal (or download the free workbook that accompanies this article) you can record what you did that lead to a positive feeling and keep a record of those activities.

Step 3 - Break up with the idea that you have only one purpose

There is not just one thing that you are meant to do!  

At one time, being a race car driver and inspiring people with that skill and my speaking was my purpose.  Then, I wanted to be a mom - and I am living that purpose now and it is amazing.

But that isn't the end of my path. Now, my health journey has led into becoming an author, a certified life and business coach, a podcaster, etc.  

These are all things I was meant for and I am just getting started.

We all have greatness inside of us!  Limiting ourselves to one purpose is stifling that greatness and limiting your potential.

Write out all your interests, your talents, your skills, and your dreams.  Keep them handy and reflect on them often. You may not understand how you can utilize them all right now, but I believe we are given each and every one of these things for a reason - we are meant to use them!

Remember that your passions and purpose are intertwined. They feed one another and direct the path you are meant to take.

I am so passionate about encouraging you to live your life intentionally and on purpose.

Even if it is hard and a struggle, I want you to know that when you embrace the pain and the struggle and lean into your passions the answers you are looking for will reveal themselves to you.

That feeling that something is missing will go away once you are fully living in your purpose.

Write this down -> Passion + Action.  Draw a heart around passion because your passion is that thing that hits you right in the heart.

Passions together with action will lead you to a purpose filled life. It is really just about living it - being joyfully present in every moment

If you start this today, very soon you are going to be oozing passion and enthusiasm for life. Once you get there, you are going to wonder why you made it so hard.

So get out there!  Start taking actions, stop overthinking and start living your life’s purpose!!
